Detroit Pistons

The Detroit Pistons have dug themselves quite a hole now. They were looking great at the begining of the season then made a trade that was supposivly good. We got rid of our captian and argueably best player Chauncey Billups. And what did we get for him? A player who was a great all star scoring chamipon and oh one of the worst team players ever. Allen Iverson, everyone thought he would get us back to the championship but that doesnt seem like its working out. He was a starter and this led to the Pistons losing. But worse of all it sent a great shooter Richard "Rip" Hamilton to the bench. He was able to take it like a man though. Iverson then got an injury which was very consiversal, this sent Rip back as a starter and guess what happens next! The team clicked again winning games and being back to the good old days. They even did have some injuries to other key players but were able to tough it out against them. Now we have another problem in the Iverson fiasco he's back! The Pistons are liking what players they are using and want to stick, but guess who doesn't Allen Iverson. They are making him come off the bench and he has had alot of emotion about that. He began with why he only played eighteen minutes in his first game back with a major back injury. Now he is still coming off the bench and he is very angry about it. He stated this week that he would much rather retire from the game then have to be coming off the bench. Now everyone is getting a different perspective on this "superstar" finding out how selfish the man really is and that he believes that he is the team.

NBA season standing

The NBA season is now a third of the way over. Teams are now contending for playoff spots. Some teams such as last seasons champions the Boston Celtics have already clinched a spot, other teams include the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Orlando Magic, and the L. A. Lakers. Some teams are struggling just to stay in the playoff race and injuries are not helping them to make it. Everyone is talking now about who will get what awards for the season. The MVP award is very tight between three different players this season that have all done great things for their team. Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat is leading the NBA in points per game with almost thirty. He has been a great leader for his team and now they are looking foward to the playoffs. This is only one season after his team was one of the worst in the league. Another canidate for the MVP is LeBron James. James is aguably the best player in the NBA. He is second in points per game and has led his team to have the best record in the NBA and they won their divison. Last but not least is Kobe Bryant. He has led his team to be the best in the west and is already the reiging MVP. The rookie of the year is also in a close race main players in it are O.J. Mayo and Derrick Rose. Rose has had more of a playmaker year making his teammates better when they are on the floor with them. Mayo has been leading all rookies in scoring not to mention his team. He is looked at as the player to get the ball if they are losing. There are still many awards that are still up for grabs on this season. Some are sixth man of the year, which goes to the best bench player. Most improved player, that award goes to the player who had the most uprise is stats on the season. And the defensive player of the year which goes to the best defender in the NBA. All of these awards are presented at the end of the season.
